West Penwith is arguably one of the best places in western Europe for archaeological discovery; including a range of megalithic monuments, later hut circles, enclosed farms, courtyard houses and Iron Age hillforts as well as the remarkable field systems around Zennor. More recent examples of Cornwall’s past are the grand engine houses and chimneys dotted across this rugged landscape – a reminder that this area was once at the heart of the tin and copper
mining industry in the 18th and 19th century.
