A great way to explore Penzance and discover how the town has evolved is to take the Town Trail. It leads you not only through the main shopping streets, but also through beautiful Gardens, the seafront Promenade and harbour, providing historical facts along the way giving a flavour of the town’s rich life as a market, mining and fishing town.
There is plenty of leisurely entertainment too; the Savoy Cinema, Acorn Theatre, Penlee Art Gallery and Parks and gardens where you can enjoy a quiet stroll.
There are plenty of amenities too for all ages – play equipment at Alexandra Play Site by the sea front, skate park on Western Promenade Road, tennis courts at Morrab Gardens and a Bowling Green too.
The pedestrianised shopping street of Causewayhead holds many small independent shops and Castle Street with its beautiful Georgian buildings also contains interesting shops and cafes.
