 Hayle in Bloom

The town of Hayle has been involved with Britain in Bloom South West for the past eight years – winning many awards in the process. In 2006 and 2007 Hayle was awarded Gold in the South West Area competition and in 2007, at their first invitation, they won Silver Gilt in the National Britain in Bloom competition.

The Hayle Committee is very active and welcomes newcomers at all levels of ability. The town has only three professional gardeners, so Hayle in Bloom, which has dozens of members, works with them to help in the tremendous task of keeping the Town looking its best.

A new and successful initiative is Adopt-a-Plot,where many volunteers take on a specific flower bed or area to weed, plant and tend at many locations throughout the town.

Hayle has some beautiful walking areas. Not to be missed is the Sub-Tropical Gardens of King George V Memorial Walk which run the length of the Copperhouse Pool and provide many benches from which to enjoy the flowers, trees and also the wading birds in the RSPB Nature Reserve.
Also worth a visit is the Millpond Gardens and Nature Reserve, which won a special award at the National Britain in Bloom competition together with all the floral displays in the town.

The aim of Hayle In Bloom is to create a very pleasant environment for residents and visitors alike, and the tremendous community spirit makes this easy and enjoyable to achieve.
